Julia Valtanen

Multidisciplinary artist based in Tallinn, Estonia

Julia Valtanen, born 1988, based in Tallinn, Estonia.

Graduated with a Master's degree in graphic design and later refined her artistic practice by completing a painting course at the Estonian Academy of Arts.

The main fields of her work are painting and collage on paper. In her work she creates unusual forms whose images flow from one to the other, thus Julia blends the boundaries of the imaginary and the real. The desire to capture the subtle movement of matter that binds everything around us is an important motif in her art. Julia is interested in the different ways in which the human and non-human interact with each other.

Julia works in her studio at ARS art factory in Tallinn.
